-=> THE STORY SO FAR <=-

  YOU are Link, hero, adventurer, quasi-love-interest of the often-kidnapped Princess Zelda.
As always, gather up the 8 triforce fragments and head for a showdown with the evil Ganon and
his minions. Piece of cake, right...?

-=> ABOUT THIS QUEST <=-

  "The Unofficial Nth Quest" was so named because I didn't really come up with a theme for this
quest. The base file was created in April, 2003, based on Vel's "BS-Zelda 1st Quest With New Enemies"
for ZC v1.92, Build 163. For about a week I played around learning about all the new goodies in V1.92,
and boy there were a lot of them!! When May 2nd rolled around, I decided to try to build, test, and
release a quality quest in ONLY THIRTY DAYS. You know, kind of like NaNoWriMo
(see NaNoWriMo.org for details).

  "The Unofficial Nth Quest" is the result of those efforts! I'm typing this up at about 10:30 PM
on May 31st, getting ready to upload my quest and announce it in the forums. I think you will find it
an amazingly rich experience for something done in a month. Although I did not test it quite as
extensively as I have with my other quests you should still find that it is free of bugs that restrict
your ability to play through the game. In other words an under combo or two might be messed up but
everything else should be just fine.

  The quest includes EVERY item available and I played it through TWICE without cheating. People ask
me to change tilesets, but I like the BS tileset. The more common one - the one from "Triforce of Seasons"
and "Linkdark.qst" - I find to be a little too cartoonish for my taste. If someone wants to remake
this one using that tileset, send me an email, and I'll consider giving them the green light -- no
promises though!!

  I may release another version with varied MIDI's, right now they are the "standard" Zelda 2 and
Zelda 4 midi's that we all know and love. But in ONE MONTH, there is only time to focus on SO MUCH
and really, don't half of us just turn down the sound and play our own music anyway? :)

-=> QUEST HINTS <=-

It's a very linear, organized quest. The overworld is 8x8. It is organized into twelve 2x2 areas
around the outside of the overworld (four corners, and then two in between the corners on each side),
a 12-screen "travel" area which is a rectangle connecting all the 2x2 areas, and a 2x2 "center"
area where Level 9 is located. Enemies have their own "sections" of the overworld, they're not
intermingled.

Every dungeon has a heart container at the BOSS, as well as one HEART CONTAINED PIECE. In addition, every
2x2 area has a Heart Container Piece in the OVERWORLD portion. So there are 12 HCP's in the Overworld
(= 3 hearts), 8 HCP's in the Dungeons (= 2 hearts) and 8 HC's in the Dungeons (= 8 hearts) and thus
3 + 3 + 2 + 8 = 16 hearts max.

Number of hearts and max items you can have before ENTERING a level (.1 = 1 HCP, etc.)
Keep in mind you might go into the level and acquire more items then leave and use those
to get other items and then return to finish the dungeon (there are two levels like this!).
Also you have to buy the wallets so you probably won't get them right before Level 2 but in
theory you could kill enough to buy them. :)

@ START -- 3.0 Hearts. 4 Magic. (1/1).
Level 1 -- 3.1 Hearts. 4 Magic. (1/1). Wooden Sword.
Level 2 -- 4.3 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/1). Above, PLUS: Magic Shield, Hookshot, Blue Candle, Max Bombs = 12,
................................................... Wooden Boomerang, Letter, Small Wallet, Large Wallet
Level 3 -- 6.1 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/1). Above, PLUS: Whistle.
Level 4 -- 7.3 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/1). Above, PLUS: Raft, Bait.
Level 5 -- 9.0 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/1). Above, PLUS: Boots, Blue Ring.
Level 6 - 10.2 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/1). Above, PLUS: Hammer, Magic Boomerang, Cross, MAGIC UPGRADE, Max Bombs = 16.
Level 7 - 12.3 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/2). Above, PLUS: Magic Sword, Ladder, Bow, Arrow, Silver Arrow, Flippers, Red Candle
Level 8 - 14.2 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/2). Above, PLUS: Power Bracelet, L2 Bracelet, Wand, Magic Book, Super Bombs
Level 9 - 16.0 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/2). Above, PLUS: Magic Key, Red Ring

@ END --- 16.0 Hearts. 8 Magic. (1/2). Above, PLUS: Golden Arrow, Master Sword, Gold Ring, Lens of Truth.

Talk to people. There should be enough information to allow you to finish the quest.
There isn't anything really SO obscure that you cannot figure it out. The hardest
thing to find is probably the Dmap 13 entrance (Fourth Mini Dungeon), but just remember
that there is one AND ONLY one dungeon (either Level 1-8 or one of the four Mini Dungeons)
in each of the 2x2 areas around the outer part of the map. So you should get it narrowed
down. :)

If you know where everything is, I think it should take about four to five hours to beat the
quest as measured on the counter. At least that is what it takes me but I suck as a game player,
so my fighting is probably slower than other folks'.

===============================================================

-=> CONCLUSION <=-

Most of all... have fun!! This is probably my last quest for a LONG LONG WHILE, I like to think it
is my most challenging (more intense than Adventure of Link, in my opinion), and I hope I get
to go out with a bang!
